Manufacturing Process
Coating Preparation Phase
Heat polylactic acid to 150°C until fully melted.
Add carnauba wax slowly while maintaining constant stirring using a high-shear mixer.
Mix for 30 minutes until a homogenous blend is achieved.
Binding Phase
Prepare starch solution by mixing starch in water at a ratio of 1:4 and heat to 80°C.
Integrate starch solution into PLA-wax mixture under continuous stir, maintaining temperature at 70°C.
Final Coating Application
Apply the formulated coating to paper using an industrial roller coater.
Ensure uniform thickness at approximately 100 microns with a coating machine.
Perform quality control by verifying coating uniformity and adhesion strength.
